As part of their ongoing Executive Development Program (EDP) journey at the Kellogg School of Management, the two latest Macedonian fellows – Zoran Ilievski and Igor Dimitrov – had the distinct privilege of meeting with Mike Zafirovski, the visionary behind the Zafirovski Executive Education Program.
The meeting took place over an inspiring and insightful dinner in Chicago, organized in the middle of their academic journey. This gathering was a unique opportunity for the fellows to reflect on their progress, exchange experiences, and receive personal insights from Mike Zafirovski, a global business leader with a deep commitment to advancing leadership and talent in Macedonia.

The dinner was further enriched by the presence of Mitre Kutanovski, Co-Founder of Macedonia2025, whose early vision helped shape the organization’s mission to nurture Macedonia’s future leaders. Also attending were two representatives from The Zaf Group, one of whom is a proud Zafirovski Fellow himself – symbolizing the growing and interconnected community that the program continues to build.
This intimate setting created an ideal space for thoughtful discussion about leadership, impact, and the importance of investing in people. It also served as a symbolic bridge between generations of fellows and supporters committed to a brighter future for Macedonia.
A Growing Community of Global Macedonian Leaders
With 49 Macedonian professionals having already completed the EDP at Kellogg through the Zafirovski Executive Education Program, the initiative has evolved into a powerful network of changemakers. This program is not only an elite learning experience – it is a long-term investment in building a critical mass of strategic thinkers and globally-minded leaders.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Robin and Mike Zafirovski, whose vision and philanthropy are turning this milestone into reality. Their bold goal is to support 100 Macedonian executives – a legacy that will shape the country’s business and innovation landscape for generations to come.

They learned about different types of sensors, programming concepts like loops and variables, and how these are used within the Fable ecosystem. In the afternoon, they worked on creative group projects using Design Thinking, bringing their ideas to life through prototyping and robot movement programming.
, the group headed into the historic heart of Ohrid for a beautiful sunset walking tour. Starting from the Upper Gate and Ancient Theater, we strolled to Plaošnik, passed by St. Sophia, and ended in the charming city center, where we were captivated by Ohrid’s timeless beauty.
