Choose Science - Choose the Future!

As part of the Science for the Future promotional campaign, implemented with the support of the Johnson Matthey Community Impact Programme, we are pleased to share the inspiring story of Violeta Gjorgjievska, an early-grade primary school teacher at "Aleksandar Makedonski" Primary School in Skopje.

As an educator, Violeta believes that curiosity is the first step toward knowledge and that every child has the potential to become a researcher, an innovator, and a creator of a better future.

Her message to young learners is both inspiring and empowering: “Science is about discovering, exploring, and creating a better future. Follow your curiosity, believe in your abilities, and choose an education connected to science. Today you are learning, and tomorrow you can be the one changing the world! Choose science – choose the future!”

In her personal story, Violeta shares how her love of learning led her to the teaching profession:

“As a teacher, I have always believed that science is the driving force behind progress and the key to a better future. My love for learning began in primary school, when I curiously explored natural phenomena and searched for answers to countless questions. It was this curiosity that inspired me to continue my education and pursue lifelong professional development.

Throughout my career, I have participated in numerous training courses, workshops, and educational projects that have enriched my knowledge and skills. I am especially proud to have the opportunity to motivate my students to explore, think critically, and discover the beauty of science through hands-on activities and modern teaching methods.

My success did not come overnight. It is the result of perseverance, continuous learning, and the belief that every challenge is an opportunity for growth. Today, I can proudly say that education has enabled me to make a positive impact on the lives of many students and contribute to their personal and academic development.

To all primary school students, I would like to say: never be afraid to dream big. Science opens countless opportunities and can lead you to careers that will change the world. Stay curious, keep exploring, and believe in yourself - your own success story is only just beginning.”
