Azemine Fetai – Promotional Campaign “SCIENCE FOR THE FUTURE”

Every great discovery begins with a “why” – dare to ask it.

As part of the “Science for the Future” campaign, implemented with the support of the Johnson Matthey Community Impact Program, we are especially pleased to share the inspirational story of Azemine Fetai, a teacher at the primary school “Anton Zako Çajupi” in the village of Otnja (Lipkovo), a graduate engineer in biochemistry, biologist, and chemistry teacher.

Through her motivational message, she encourages students to experience science as a tool for understanding the world:

“Science and chemistry are not just formulas and experiments, but a way to understand the world around you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, explore, and make mistakes – that’s how we learn the most. Believe in yourself and your curiosity, because every great scientist was once a child with many questions. Your knowledge today can create the future tomorrow.”

In her personal story, Azemine emphasizes that love for science and perseverance can overcome all challenges:

“My story is proof that with effort, persistence, and a love for science, anything is possible. The path to success was not always easy, but I never gave up. I studied in the field of science because I was always drawn to the questions ‘why’ and ‘how’ the world around us works.”

She stresses that education is a process that requires dedication but also self-belief:

“Alongside family responsibilities and caring for my four children, I continued to study, improve myself, and believe in myself. Today, I am a graduate engineer in biochemistry, a biologist, and a chemistry teacher – three degrees that are the result of persistence, curiosity, and a deep love for science.”

As a teacher, she sends a powerful message to all young science enthusiasts:

“Science has taught me that mistakes are not failures, but steps toward knowledge. I want you to know that you too can succeed, no matter the challenges. Believe in your dreams, study with heart, and never give up – the future belongs to those who dare to learn and explore.”
