Zelfije Husein – Promotional Campaign “SCIENCE FOR THE FUTURE”

Knowledge is the strongest ally of every dream – believe in yourself and keep learning.

As part of the “Science for the Future” campaign, implemented with the support of the Johnson Matthey Community Impact Program, we are delighted to share the inspirational story of Zelfije Husein, a natural sciences teacher and mentor-teacher at OOŠ “Petar Zdravkovski Penko” in Skopje.

Through her motivational message, she encourages students to believe in themselves and the power of knowledge:

“Believe in yourself, learn with joy, and never stop dreaming – knowledge opens the door to your future.”

In her personal story, Zelfije highlights curiosity as the starting point of learning and personal growth:

“From a very young age, I was curious and wanted to know how the world around me works. I often asked questions, and sometimes I did not have immediate answers. But those questions taught me that learning is a process and that we should not give up when something doesn’t come easily.”

She emphasizes that school is not just a place for grades, but a place where thinking and character are developed:

“At school, I realized that knowledge is not just about grades, but a tool that helps us think, create, and become better people.”

Despite challenges, persistence and support are key to progress:

“There were moments when learning was difficult, and I doubted myself, but through effort, persistence, and the support of my teachers, I kept moving forward. Small successes motivated me to believe that through hard work, we can achieve a lot. Today I know that every student has their own path and their own talent.”

As a teacher and mentor, she sends a clear and encouraging message to all students:

“Science helps us understand the future and gives us the courage to dream big. So never stop asking questions, exploring, and believing in yourself – because knowledge is the strongest ally of every success.”

Zelfije Husein is part of the network of dedicated teachers and mentors who, through the “Science for the Future” campaign, contribute to building a culture of curiosity, self-confidence, and a spirit of exploration among young generations.
