Olgica Bajaldjieva – Promotional Campaign “SCIENCE FOR THE FUTURE”

Science begins where curiosity gains courage.

As part of the “Science for the Future” campaign, implemented with the support of Johnson Matthey, we are pleased to share the inspirational story of Olgica Bajaldjieva, a biology teacher and mentor at the primary school “Petar Pop Arsov” – Skopje.

Through her motivational message, she encourages students to boldly step into the world of science:

“Science belongs to brave minds who dare to ask, explore, and believe that knowledge can change the world.”

Her love for science began at an early age through simple but meaningful discoveries:

“When I was little, I wanted to understand how plants grow. One day I did my own little experiment – I put corn kernels in three cups: one with water, one with sand, and one with soil from the yard. I observed them every day, drew charts, and carefully watched which grew faster.”

She recalls that these small investigations awakened her curiosity and desire to discover:

“Later, I experimented with flowers and different amounts of water, observing how some turn toward the light while others slowly bend. Each experiment revealed a new secret and taught me that science is alive, exciting, and always full of surprises.”

Today, as a teacher and mentor, she passes that same curiosity on to her students:

“Explore, ask questions, and follow your curiosity. Perhaps your ideas will take you on a journey through the world of science and great discoveries.”

Olgica Bajaldjieva is part of a community of dedicated teachers who, through “Science for the Future,” turn curiosity into knowledge and inspire students to choose science as a path to their future.
