Macedonia2025 Donates Science Kits to 20 Primary Schools

Skopje (19.02.2024)

Last week, Macedonia2025, as part of the project “Science and Me”, donated science kits to 20 primary schools across the country.

The science kit is provided as a tool – an educational aid – to support and enhance educational development in Macedonia, aiming to improve the conditions for teaching natural sciences in 6th grade. These kits were awarded to schools whose natural science teachers participated in the “Science and Me” two-day training workshop on effective science teaching for natural science teachers in Macedonia, held on January 16–17, 2024, in Skopje.

The overall initiative aims to ensure long-term and continuous use of the science kits in the school environment, highlighting their value for both teachers and students. By equipping our schools with the latest scientific tools and resources, we open a world of discovery and innovation for the next generation. Our goal is to inspire young minds, spark curiosity, and support teachers in delivering impactful science education. We believe that the continuous use of the science kits can increase students’ interest, motivation, and understanding of the curriculum, ultimately preparing them to successfully face challenges in their future scientific and academic careers.

Representatives of Macedonia2025 visited three of the beneficiary schools, including OOU “Nevena Georgieva-Dunja”in Kisela Voda, Skopje, OOU “Alija Avdović” in Batinci (Skopje region), and OOU “Blaze Koneski” in Veles, and officially handed over the science kits. At each school, meetings were held with teachers and principals to discuss possibilities for further cooperation and the organization of upcoming Science Fairs. During these regional science fairs, the teachers who participated in the training are responsible for presenting individual science projects carried out and showcased by their 6th-grade students.

This is a small but meaningful step in supporting education and developing young minds in our community.

On this occasion, we would like to express our gratitude to two socially responsible companies: Ars Lamina (Literatura.mk) and Trimax, who joined the initiative and enriched the science kits with their products.

Macedonia2025 implements this project as part of the Johnson Matthey Community Impact Program “Science and Me.”
