Competition “Best Business Concept for Green Innovations 2024”
On March 23, 2024, the final round of the competition “Best Business Concept 2024: Competition for Green Innovations” was held for the 18th time. The event was organized within the framework of the European project GREENOVET, through the Center of Excellence in Green Innovation (CEGI) at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje.
The competition, intended for high schools across the country, was organized in cooperation with: Macedonia2025, Halkbank AD Skopje, the National Center for the Development of Innovation and Entrepreneurial Learning (NCDIEL), the Union of Chambers of Commerce of Macedonia, Rade Končar TEP, and ASUC “Boro Petrushevski” – Skopje.
The main goal of the competition is to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit among young people, particularly in the development of green innovations.
The top 16 teams, involving more than 100 students and mentors from high schools, presented their business concepts before a seven-member jury panel.
This year, first place was awarded to the team “Grainovation” from “Goce Delchev” Secondary School, Valandovo. Second place went to “Terramea” from SEPGS “Vasil Antevski – Dren”, Skopje. Third place was shared by “ShutterSun” from SUGS Gymnasium “Josip Broz Tito”, Skopje and “TrashPinger” from OEMUC “St. Naum Ohridski”, Ohrid.
The top four teams will receive awards provided by the partners Macedonia2025 and Halkbank AD Skopje, while the winners will participate in the international green innovation competition, which will be held in April 2024 in Graz, Austria, supported by the GREENOVET European project (https://www.greenovet.eu/).
