Biljana Arsovska – Promotional Campaign “Science for the Future”

“Every ‘Why?’ Is the Beginning of a New Discovery.”

As part of the Science for the Future campaign, we are proud to share the inspiring story of Biljana Arsovska, a primary school teacher and mentor at Vera Jocić Primary School in Skopje. Through her work, she encourages students to embrace science with curiosity, courage, and creativity.

Her message to young learners is both inspiring and empowering: “Every great discovery began with a child asking ‘Why?’. Never stop asking questions, never stop exploring. Be curious, ask questions, and don't be afraid to experiment - perhaps you will be the one to create the future we are all waiting for.”

In her personal story, Biljana reflects on how curiosity shaped her own journey: “When I was a child, I didn't know that curiosity was my greatest strength. I simply knew that I wanted to discover things - why the sky changes color, how a seed grows, or what happens when we mix two substances. Today I understand that those ‘small’ questions were the beginning of my journey into science.

I became a teacher because I believe science should not only be learned - it should be experienced. In my classroom, we conduct experiments, build LEGO models, explore climate change, and search for solutions to real-world problems. Every day I see curious children grow into young thinkers who realize they can make a difference.

Science has taught me that every idea matters, every child has potential, and the future belongs to those who are not afraid to explore. That is why I encourage you to dream boldly, ask questions without fear, and trust your curiosity. The world needs your ideas. Perhaps you will be the one to save our planet or create something that today seems impossible.”
