Through the Support Fund for Talented High School Students “Talents Today - Leaders Tomorrow,” Macedonia2025 supports young people who demonstrate exceptional talent, leadership potential, and a commitment to making a positive impact on their communities.
One of these inspiring scholars is Lina Chashitovska, a senior student at Josip Broz Tito Gymnasium in Bitola. Her exceptional abilities were recognized from an early age, allowing her to skip a grade during primary school. Since then, Lina has continuously distinguished herself through outstanding academic achievements, active civic engagement, artistic expression, and youth leadership.
Known for her empathy, determination, and strong sense of responsibility, Lina successfully balances excellence in natural sciences, languages, music, public speaking, and community service. She also participated in the national educational program “I Have an Opinion”, organized by the Parliamentary Institute, where her school’s team won Second Place in the national finals.
Another remarkable achievement was the publication of “Humanity at Your Fingertips,” a collection of humanitarian fables in Braille. The project is believed to be the first publication of its kind in the country and reflects Lina’s commitment to inclusion and accessibility.
Lina on the “Talents Today – Leaders Tomorrow” Program
Reflecting on her experience as a scholar, Lina shared: “The scholarship opened many doors for me during the school year. The mentorship program helped me resolve the dilemma I had regarding my future university studies, and I especially appreciated the mentors’ dedication and genuine commitment during our sessions. Even after the official completion of the mentorship process, I continue to stay in touch with them. This is truly an opportunity that every young person should experience, and if I had the chance, I would apply again without hesitation.”
Through the mentorship program, Lina worked with mentors Kristijan Tomashevski and Lola Cimerkova, who helped her explore her interests, career aspirations, and future academic choices.
Looking Toward the Future
Looking ahead, Lina hopes to continue combining her interests in science, public policy, leadership, and social impact. Her experiences as a student advocate, youth leader, volunteer, musician, and high-achieving student have helped her develop a unique perspective on how education and civic engagement can work together to create positive change.
Whether through academia, public service, community leadership, or international engagement, Lina is determined to continue using her knowledge, empathy, and creativity to make a difference.
Lina’s story reminds us that true leadership begins with a willingness to learn, serve, and inspire others.
