A New Partnership for Better Education!

On April 9, 2025, Macedonia2025 and the Bureau for Education Development (BED) officially signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at improving the quality of education in our country.

This memorandum represents a significant step forward in joint efforts to create an inclusive, modern, and effective education system. As the first concrete outcome of this collaboration, the implementation of the “Science and Me”program—part of the Johnson Matthey Corporate Social Responsibility initiative—will continue. The project focuses on enhancing the quality of natural sciences education in primary schools through:

  • Training for over 100 mentor teachers and subject teachers in natural sciences,
  • Developing their inspiring teaching skills and boosting their confidence,
  • Fostering curiosity and interest in science among students through regional science fairs,
  • Improving academic performance and increasing interest in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

Beyond the implementation of “Science and Me,” the cooperation foresees expanding joint activities across several strategic areas, including:

  •  Digital skills development – through digital literacy programs in primary and secondary education, with a focus on students from socially vulnerable groups and girls in technology.
  •  Teacher support and professional development – strengthening teaching staff capacities through the development of educational modules, workshops, and consultative support.
  •  Innovation and leadership in education – promoting critical thinking, entrepreneurial spirit, and problem-solving skills among students.
  •  Equal opportunities for all students – with a focus on intercultural inclusion and support for students from different ethnic communities and geographic regions.
  •  Research activities and pilot projects – developing and testing new evidence-based teaching approaches.

Acting Director of the Bureau for Education Development, Milka Trimchevska, and Executive Director of Macedonia2025, Prof. Nikica Mojsoska Blazhevski, expressed their strong support for this collaboration and readiness to deepen it further. Both parties recognize the importance of investing in human capital from an early age and are jointly committed to creating a system that will prepare young people for the challenges of the 21st century.

Through this Memorandum, we are paving the way for concrete actions that will have a long-term impact on teachers, students, and society as a whole.

Together, we are building education that inspires!
