Dženan Rizvanović – “SCIENCE FOR THE FUTURE” Promotional Campaign Science is a journey full of surprises and discoveries!

As part of our “Science for the Future” campaign, implemented under the Johnson Matthey Community Impact Program “Science and Me,” we are delighted to share the inspiring story of Dženan Rizvanović, a biology teacher at “Alija Izetbegović” Primary School in Skopsko Batinci.

Dženan is a teacher who, with love and enthusiasm, introduces his students to the world of biology, motivating them to explore, ask questions, and discover. For him, science is not just learning facts – it is an adventure filled with fun moments, new discoveries, and mysteries waiting to be unveiled.

Here, he shares why he decided to study biology:

*"Even as a child, my favorite part of growing up was the time I spent in nature, but I never imagined that one day this could become part of my profession.

When I enrolled in high school, I dreamed of becoming a doctor, lab technician, physiotherapist, or other well-known professions that were presented as the best options. But over time, I realized that my favorite subject was biology because I learned about everything around us – all the things that made me very happy as a child, even if I didn’t fully understand them.

I learned about animals, plants, and all possible phenomena around us, and I was lucky to study under the best teachers, who shared their knowledge with love and took us outdoors almost every lesson. They gave us the opportunity to explore and reach our own conclusions, and these were some of the best lessons for me throughout all four years of high school.

That is why I explored all professions related to nature and science, and at that moment, I realized that I had the opportunity to study biology and spend my life doing what I do today – which is what I truly love the most: science, children, and nature!"*

His mission is to inspire students to see nature from a different perspective, to explore it, and to marvel at its wonders. He believes curiosity is the key to a deep understanding of the world around us and that the best way to learn is through practical exploration and experimentation.

His motivational message to students is:

"Science will give you many fun moments while learning and will reveal an entirely new world of knowledge that you didn’t even know existed. So learn, explore, try, and experiment – only then will you discover and enjoy all the wonders of the nature around us!"

Dženan reminds us that learning is most enjoyable when it’s fun, and nature is full of wonders waiting to be discovered.
