MK2025 Foundation: Open call for scholarships for ten (10) high school students "Talents Today - Leaders Tomorrow"

The MK2025 Foundation announces the call for applications for the Fund to Support Talented High School Students "Talents Today - Leaders Tomorrow" for the 2024/2025 academic year.
Following the success of the pilot scholarship project in 2019/2020, the MK2025 Foundation provides funding for financial support to talented young people from Macedonia. Through this fund, this year we will also award scholarships to 10 young talents. The support for each scholarship recipient amounts to 60,000 (sixty thousand) MKD, paid in 10 (ten) equal monthly installments on an annual basis. Scholarships will be awarded only for the months during which classes are held (starting from September 2024 to June 2025).
Eligibility Criteria
- High school students (from first to third year) studying regular studies in public secondary schools;
- High school students with a grade point average above 4.70;
- Recipients of awards or participants in national and/or international competitions in the field of natural and social sciences, computer programming and others, with preference given to candidates from STEM fields;
- Student candidates from socially vulnerable families with a total household financial income (gross) of up to 800,000 MKD per year.
Scholarship recipients for the 2023/2024 academic year are required to reapply to the open call for scholarships.
How to Apply
Documents are submitted through the E-scholarships platform of Macedonia2025.
To apply, you must attach the following documents in Macedonian language.
- Curriculum Vitae (Europass CV or similar format);
- Confirmation of regular student status and proof of academic achievement (average grade) for the last three completed school years;
- Diplomas/certificates from national and/or international competition awards in various disciplines (not older than 3 years);
- Motivation letter explaining why the support is needed (it is mandatory to state in the motivation letter whether the candidate is a recipient of other scholarships);
- Relevant documents showing annual (gross) financial income in the household, i.e., Certificate from the Public Revenue Office for income from various sources (self-employment income, agricultural activity income, property and property rights income, capital income, capital gains, gambling prizes and other prize games, other income) for the last calendar year before applying, for the parents/guardians of the candidate individually and for the candidate themselves;
- At least 1 recommendation from professors/relevant institutions or individuals involved in the candidate's education.
Important: Detailed instructions and clarifications for the required documentation for scholarships from the Fund to Support Talented High School Students "Talents Today - Leaders Tomorrow" are available on the e-scholarships platform (bottom left corner).
In addition to the regular scholarship, the Fund will strive to support and provide mentoring and training for personal and professional development of candidates, internships in prominent Macedonian companies, and similar activities/support that will be in the interest of professional development of users. Scholarship recipients will be invited to annual events and activities organized by the MK2025 Foundation.
The final deadline for submitting documents is 15.07.2024 (the call closes at 23:59). Only applications submitted electronically through the E-scholarships/macedonia2025 platform are considered valid.
Selection Process
Administrative selection is performed by the MK2025 Foundation.
After the administrative selection process is completed, applications will be reviewed by a Commission composed of prominent members and partners of the MK2025 Foundation. Selected candidates who meet all the above conditions and criteria will be contacted no later than mid-August 2024. Before final decisions are made, some candidates may be invited for additional interviews.
Additional Notes
After the completion of the selection process, selected scholarship recipients sign a Donation Agreement, where all conditions and rules for using the scholarship are defined. For individuals under 18 years of age, the agreement is signed in the presence of the parent/guardian of the beneficiary.
After selection, scholarship recipients are required to submit quarterly reports on their achievements to demonstrate commitment and diligence in their personal and professional development as part of the scholarship.
