Kostandina Zafirovska, ItLabs – My Experience at the Kellogg Executive Development Program
In October 2024, I had the privilege of participating in the Kellogg Executive Development Program, a three-week program designed for executive leaders, held on the campus of Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management, in Evanston, Illinois.
Program Overview
The program exceeded all my expectations—both in content and delivery. The topics were carefully selected, focusing on strategic thinking, organizational transformation, financial planning, and leadership skills. The faculty was exceptional: top professors with extensive experience who made theoretical concepts applicable through interactive lectures and case studies. What impressed me most was the innovative approach to learning—discussions that enabled participants from different industries and cultures to exchange experiences.
Communication and Group Impact
The participant group was impressive—professionals from around the world sharing similar ambitions and a desire for growth. Communication and experience sharing with them were as valuable as the formal parts of the program. Each participant contributed a unique perspective, and the joint discussions were inspiring and enriching.
Impact on Personal and Work Habits
The program has already had a significant impact on me, both as a person and as a leader. The strategic and leadership topics provided real value, prompting me to think differently and approach challenges with alternative problem-solving methods. I am already applying these skills to daily work challenges and expect the program’s full value to continue unfolding.
Campus Experience
The Kellogg campus is a perfect environment for learning and networking. The modern, functional infrastructure fosters the learning process and the exchange of ideas. Social activities, shared meals, and informal interactions made these three weeks unforgettable.
Leadership Coaching
The leadership coaching sessions were the only lowlight of the program due to their weak structure.
Recommendation for Improvement
The application process through Macedonia2025 was well organized and thoroughly supported by its staff. The logistical support from the program was excellent, but it would be beneficial to provide more opportunities for participants to engage with the local Kellogg community.
Message to Future Participants
If you are ready to step out of your comfort zone, gain new perspectives, and challenge yourself to become a better leader, this program is for you. Take the opportunity—invest in yourself, as this experience will transform the way you view business and the world around you.
