As part of the “Science and Me” campaign, implemented under the Johnson Matthey Community Impact Program, we are pleased to share the inspiring story of Aida Petrovska – mentor teacher and physics professor at “Dimitar Miladinov” Elementary School in Skopje.

Aida is proof that science is not just a profession – it is a way of life. With her passion for physics, she inspires her students every day to look deeper, ask more questions, and be brave in the search for answers.

Here is her motivational message to all elementary students:
“Science is not just formulas and facts – it is the key that opens doors to new worlds. Be curious, ask questions, explore, and maybe you will be the one to open the door to a brighter future for all of us. Science begins with a ‘why’ and continues with your courage to find the answer.”

Aida also shares her personal story:
“Science taught me to be patient, to ask questions, to verify information, and not to accept everything I hear without evidence. In this way, I not only learned how to solve problems but also how to be a person who does not give up and always seeks the truth.

Through science, we become better, more honest, more persistent, and more sincere – toward the world and toward ourselves.

So, my advice to all students: be curious, explore, and never be afraid to ask. Science is the path that leads you to your dreams and to a brighter future.”
