Online Conference: Lessons from Central and Eastern European Countries – Improving Personal and Household Services in Europe
As countries continue to move toward providing community-based support systems, the demand for personal and household services (PHS) has increased. The PERHOUSE project aims to collect data on the working conditions of sector workers in Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries. This data will provide deeper insights into industrial relations and the challenges faced by the sector across 12 CEE countries, including Macedonia.
The project also aims to strengthen social and national dialogue at the EU level within the sector. Some of the key benefits include setting quality benchmarks for services, ensuring access to care and non-care services provided in home settings, and improving working conditions.
PERHOUSE will hold its final online conference on June 21, 2024, from 9:30 to 12:30. During the conference, representatives from all 12 countries will present the study to EU stakeholders and address the challenges and opportunities across the CEE region through a panel discussion. External experts in PHS and industrial relations will also discuss the link between the PHS sector and EU-level social dialogue structures.
The event will be held in English, with interpretation available in Czech, Polish, Slovenian, and Slovak. Real-time automated transcription in Macedonian will be available via Zoom.
