Incredible "Science and Me" Workshop in Skopje!

Two impactful days (16-17 January 2024) dedicated to enriching science education concluded with the "Science and Me" Workshop in Skopje. This event brought together passionate teachers from primary schools across the country, creating a platform for inspiration, collaboration, and deep exploration of effective teaching strategies in the natural sciences.

The workshop kicked off with a heartfelt opening by Zorica Doveva, PGM Coordinator focusing on JM corporate responsibility, who shared her personal journey in studying science and career development. Nena Manchev, Head of Education and Leadership Programs, welcomed participants on behalf of Macedonia2025, shedding light on the organization's focus areas, with a special emphasis on the "Science and Me" project.

Our esteemed speakers from the Bureau for Development of Education - Ivanka Mijik, Mare Bojchovska Saveska, and Vjolca Mehmeti-Nuredini - along with Ana Tomovska Misoska from UACS, shared invaluable insights and practical tips with the enthusiastic audience.

Highlights:

  • Motivational insights and cultivating a positive classroom atmosphere
  • Engaging sessions on inquiry-based learning in physics
  • Experiential learning in biology and environmental sciences
  • Ingenuity in chemistry experiments

The energy in the room was palpable as educators explored creative teaching methods, problem-solving approaches, and ways to make science classes more exciting! A heartfelt gratitude to all the dedicated science teachers who joined us. We look forward to seeing the impact of these insights as they are implemented in classrooms, fostering a love for science among pupils.  As a mark of their commitment to professional development, participating teachers receive certificates, providing a valuable document for their career progression.
