The First Official Networking Event for ABF Scholars: Inspiration, Support, and New Opportunities

On December 11, 2024, the first official networking event for ABF scholars was held at Public Room in Skopje, organized by the Macedonia2025 Foundation and the Atanas Bliznakoff Foundation.

The event generated great interest among students, attracting over 80 participants who recognized it as an exceptional opportunity for inspiration, networking, and the exchange of ideas.

The event opened with inspiring speeches by Nikica Mojsoska Blazevski, Executive Director of Macedonia2025, and Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Skeparovski, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Digitalization at “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University. They emphasized the importance of this program in supporting young people and their role in the country’s future development.

This event brought together current and former scholarship recipients (now graduates), enabling them to network, share ideas and experiences, and create new opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Over the years, the Atanas Bliznakoff Program for Student Excellence has significantly expanded its scope, supporting a total of 139 students enrolled in undergraduate studies across all faculties at “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje.

The scholars come from different regions across the country: 40% from Skopje and the Skopje region, 13% from Kumanovo, 7% from Prilep, 5% from Bitola and Strumica, as well as other cities. This highlights the inclusiveness and nationwide reach of the program.

The program includes students from a wide range of faculties and study programs. The most represented fields are medicine (40 students), computer science and engineering (20 students), and economics (18 students), reflecting the program’s commitment to supporting talent across diverse academic disciplines.

In 2024, the ABF Mentorship Program was also launched, creating a comprehensive platform for connecting scholars, exchanging knowledge, and fostering joint development.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Atanas Bliznakoff Foundation and “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University for their dedication to investing in young talent, which is a key driver of Macedonia’s economic and social development.
