The main purpose of the project was to assess the performance of Macedonia (as an EU candidate country) on the European Pillar of Social Rights. The aim of the country reviews is to provide DG EMPL (of the European Commission) with a synthetic overview on the current situation and trends regarding the performance of Macedonia in each of the 20 principles of the European pillar of Social Rights. The review also includes country data for the indicators of the Social Scoreboard. In addition, the review identifies the main gaps in policy making legislation and implementation with regards to the realization of the Pillar’s principles, in order to inform the policymakers on prioritization of topics/areas in the economic governance process and the acquis alignment.
