I found out about the Macedonia 2025 Executive Education Program on internet in July 2010. I was excited about the whole idea to participate in such a program where I can attend courses at one of the best business schools – Schulich school of Business at Your University Toronto and in the same time get the practical experience in companies in Toronto. After applying, I was contacted and went through an interview. I was very happy when I found out that I have been selected.
I left for Canada on April 21, 2011. On April 25th, 2011, I was already attending the first course at Schulich School of business. During the months April and May I have attended 6 courses.
- 1Leadership in Challenging Times
- 2Measuring Marketing ROI: Making Highly 3. Profitable Marketing Decisions
- 3Lean Operational Excellence for Service Organizations
- 4Using Microsoft Project
- 5Improving Operational Performance and Productivity
- 6Sales Leadership Excellence: Developing your sales organization for strategic success
The experience from attending these courses is immense. The course facilitators were high professionals with vast knowledge and they were able to transfer their skills with great ease, making everything to look so simple. Mr. Lou Naumovski, board member of Macedonia 2025 helped me a lot, with his whole organization for the courses and making sure that I meet the right people at the Schulich school of business that were always open for questions and suggestions.
The second part of the program was an internship in three companies. I started with Mobilicity – a mobile company created to bring down the cost of wireless. The second company was XM-Satellite Radio that merged with Sirius Satellite Radio at the time I was there and the third company was Scott’s Real Estate Investment Trust that manages a portfolio of 220 retail properties located in seven provinces across Canada and trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange. In these three companies, I had the great opportunity to work closely with the CFOs and the people in the finance, sales and marketing departments. I was given the chance to work on projects that helped me implement both my knowledge and skills and in the same time to learn about the procedures in the business sector in Canada. The second part was assisted by Mr. John Bitove, who made sure that my stay at these companies was pleasant and that the respective professional shared their time and knowledge with me.
I would recommend this program to anyone that wants to open his/her horizons, to learn new things, to implement his knowledge, to exchange ideas, to work hard and who is eager to bring changes to Macedonia.
I now expect that the knowledge and experience gathered throughout this project, I will be able to implement it in Macedonia, in one of the companies here. I am sure that each person, after being a part of the program Macedonia 2025 Executive Education Program will be an asset to any company, and will be able to add value to the business sector in Macedonia. In order everything to function properly, this program requires lots of time and efforts. I want to thank the Board of Macedonia 2025 for investing itself unselfishly, and working for the better future of Macedonia.
